The Sam Mickelson Family would like to offer you the opportunity to become "part of the family". The Mickelson Family has lived at this ranch for over 25years. Although we do not have a lodge, we do offer lodging in our home for any hunters that come to our ranch. In addition we enjoy guests who are looking for an out-of-the-ordinary lodging experience. We can accommodate up to 12 people. The guest rooms are not fancy or elegant, but they are clean with a private bathroom in a smoke free, alcohol free environment. When you come to stay with us, you are invited to enjoy supper with our family and breakfast the next morning. The cost is $100 per person per night. The hunting deposit also reserves a room if you so indicate. In the event that you would like to stay on our ranch and enjoy a day or more of ranch life (in a non-hunting setting), you are invited to stay at a cost of $150/person/day. The day starts with supper the evening that you arrive. The next day you will participate with us in the days activities, and enjoy breakfast and a noon meal with the family. Accommodations Supper & Breakfast
The Sam Mickelson family has lived at this location for over 25 years and has enjoyed everything from milking cows, to raising sheep, beef cattle, and buffalo. Our family consists of Dad (Sam), Mom (Della Rae), three sons (Travis and his wife, Haley, Tim, and Tyler and his wife Jennifer) and three daughters (Fran, Faye Lynn and her husband, Levi, and Felicia). Grandpa (Shirley) and Grandma (Erma) Miller live close by and until 2004 owned some of the buffalo. (The buffalo still roam on land owned by the Millers.) Travis, the one primarily responsible for the management of the buffalo, and Haley live on the Miller ranch. Tim makes his living as a carpenter, but works on the ranch whenever he is needed. Currently, he has buffalo on feed in Kansas. Tyler and Jennifer will be making their home near Bismark, ND where Tyler has recently taken a job as a mechanical engineer. Fran is working with a cabinet maker and is available when extra help is needed on the ranch. Faye Lynn and Levi operate an aerial crop dusting business out of Belle Fourche, SD. Felicia lives at home, helps on the ranch, and works with her fiance, Chris Cammack, installing sprinkler systems. They plan to be married in February of 2006. Depending on when you come, any of them could be guides or skinners. As a family, we enjoy having visitors. We enjoy showing you around the ranch and listening to your description of life in your part of the world. Our lives have been greatly enriched by the new friends that we have made during the past 4 hunting seasons. We look forward to seeing many old friends and getting acquainted with new friends in the upcoming months.
